Apollo Varieté Düsseldorf : “Miss Evi” delights Audiences
“Burlesque” Programme – Dazzling Show combined with Top Dining
Lydia Thompson and her “British Blonde Troupe” sent the New York audience into raptures in the late 19th century. In the smoky setting of cabaret stages her first Burlesque Show caused a sensation: elaborate striptease, quirky stand-up comedy and bizarre artistes shocked and delighted men and women alike. In September 2010 the Apollo Varieté in Düsseldorf will now be bringing back the spirit of those days with “Burlesque”. Miss Evi will be presenting a troupe as motley as could be: dancers as sweet as sugar plus domina beasts, poetic clowns and daring artistes, wild rock’n’rollers and uninhibited comedians. Music, boisterous fun and games and unadulterated joie de vivre are centrestage in this brilliant show. Erotic moments are staged in style and always with a wink of the eye – this is what true “burlesque art” is all about! If you would like to round off your day at the fair in pleasant surroundings coupled with the best in entertainment then a visit to the Apollo Varieté in Düsseldorf is just the thing for you.
Show & Dine
In keeping with the Varieté tradition, the Apollo not only offers a breathtaking combination of acrobatics, comedy, juggling and music but also good food. The cuisine and wine cellar at Roncalli’s Apollo boast menus that change on a monthly basis complementing the extensive house menu – and in addition to your Varieté ticket you can also book the “Show & Dine” package, also ideal as a client incentive.
Varieté Tradition on the Rhine
Roncalli’s Apollo Varieté on the banks of the Rhine or Rheinufer opened its doors in 1997, almost 40 years after the last curtain fell on the old Düsseldorf “Apollo” Varieté theatre. Since then, under the artistic direction of Bernhard Paul, the founder of the Circus Roncalli, international Varieté artists have been presenting new programmes at the venue here every month in classic Varieté style.
